Super
This movie was weird. Liv Tyler was super pretty. Ellen's character
was completely unlikable, and Rainn's wasn't terribly far behind. It
was interesting to see it play out, though.
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
While watching this movie, I thought, "The last time I disliked
characters this much was when I saw Being John Malkovich," and sure
enough..this was written by the same man. Unfortunately, this didn't
grab me the way that did, and it was even tougher to sit through. I
think I may have to write off Mr. Kaufman altogether, no pun intended.
Better Off Dead
This is a terrible movie to watch if you can't stand surrealism, and if
you're looking for surrealism, it probably won't be surreal enough.
American Beauty
This was a lot like Six Feet Under. The fantasy sequences, the themes,
the music, the lighting..it was all very reminiscent of the show, which
is interesting considering the fact that the director, cinematographer,
and composer apparently never did much work on it. I don't think it
deserves the type of "most original awesome thing ever" acclaim that it
got, but aside from that it was as good as it was supposed to be.
