Elysium

Elysium focused too much on the heavy-handed theme and not enough on the actual story elements. It wasn't exciting, believable, or worth watching. 

The trailer for Elysium didn't sell me on it, and neither did Roeper's review, even though he gave it an A-, which is pretty high. It's from the same guy who directed District 9. He really needs to lay off the heavy-handed themes. He's not changing the world with these movies. He's from South Africa, though, so I guess that explains where he gets it.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

This movie has a lot of problems. I couldn't follow what was going on with the action half the time, Carly is a complete non-character, and Sam's an unlikeable jackass. The plot has more holes than a slice of Swiss cheese.

You also have the awesome (not) hour-long action sequence at the end again. I thought they would've learned their lesson from the last one: no one wants to sit through that much. Break it up into a couple of battles or something.

Fortunately, none of those things really matter to a movie like this, and I loved it anyway. We have Josh Duhamel, the name "Witwicky," Sam's parents, John Malkovich, Wash, Patrick Dempsey doing something unexpected, and several genuinely funny scenes.

Iron Man 2

Stark's complete and utter lack of likeability rendered this movie pointless.

Transformers

I thought the entire premise of this movie was, "some of them want to kill us and some of them don't." Luckily there was a *little* bit more to the plot than that.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

The action scenes were boring and went on for way too long, especially the desert fight, and the plot holes were insane. I liked Jetfire, though.

Terminator Salvation

Christian Bale..first Batman, now John Connor. What's next, fucking Mad Max? The movie may have been more interesting if the "big reveal" hadn't been revealed in the trailer, but that's alright; I guess they had to give us some reason to go see it other than "the machines try to kill John again." It was appropriately loud and action-packed, and the casting was pretty good. I enjoyed it, although it would've been nice to know more about Marcus' past, and the ending was slightly detrimental and completely unnecessary.

RoboCop

The best out of the series. The plot is engaging, and you've got lots of good characters to be interested in, too.

WALL-E

Touching. I loved what they were able to do in the first part of the movie completely without dialogue, and it's always good to get an anti-consumerism message out to the kiddies.

The Matrix

Completely engaging and absolutely unbeatable.

Blade Runner

I didn't like this movie, but I wonder if I might like it better if I saw it now.
